CWP estimation practice

In this exercise, you are going to work with the same file you used for GPP to yield conversion and phenological metric instruction. Now the actual evapotranspiration and interception (AETI) column was added to compute water consumption (ex2_CWP Excel Sheet).

Questions to answer in the assignment:

• What are the units of crop water productivity?
• Does CWP change between seasons? Hint: Compute CWP for three growing seasons to answer this question
• Do these CWP values make sense for rice? Hint: search for rice-specific CWP values in Google

Bonus task:

Download decadal net primary productivity (NPP) and actual evapotranspiration and interception (AETI) data for your field of choice from WaPOR for the last 5 years and answer the questions for your dataset.
